Teenage Rhinoplasty: When Is the Right Time?

Teenage rhinoplasty can be safe, healthy, and transformative — when timing and maturity are right. I evaluate both anatomical readiness and emotional readiness.

When Teens Are Good Candidates

  • Girls: typically 15–16 years old

  • Boys: typically 16–17 years old

  • Facial growth is near complete

  • Breathing issues or congenital deviations are present

  • The desire for surgery is self-driven

  • Parents are supportive and fits the family culture.

My Priorities

  • Preserve or improve breathing

  • Use structural techniques for long-term stability

  • Maintain natural facial harmony

  • Natural looking results.

Teenage patients tend to heal beautifully and appreciate the confidence boost — as long as the decision is thoughtful and timing is appropriate.
